In loving memory of those who started it all.
We honor their contributions and the indelible impact they made on St. Croix Cycle. Their legacy lives on through the values they instilled and the memories we share. We remember them not only for their leadership but also for their kindness and generosity. They will forever hold a special place in our hearts—and we carry them with us on every ride.

Founder
Louis St. Croix
In Loving Memory of Louis St. Croix (1942-2007)

Louis St. Croix was the original spark behind what would become St. Croix Cycle—a visionary, a hard worker, and a man with deep roots in the community. In 1966, with a dream and a toolbox, he opened the doors of his little shop in St. Georges, Manitoba. What started as a small garage quickly grew into a trusted local business, all thanks to Louis’s incredible entrepreneurial spirit, and tireless dedication.
He was known not just for his expertise, but for how he treated people—with honesty, generosity, and warmth. Whether someone was dropping by for a quick repair or just to chat, Louis made them feel like family. His passion for motorcycles and small engines was matched only by his love for his community, his music, and his family.
Outside of the shop, Louis was a gifted musician, often found with a Martin guitar in hand, playing for friends and loved ones. He was a storyteller, a jokester, and a pillar in the lives of so many around him.
We honor Louis not only as the founder of St. Croix Cycle but as the person whose vision laid the foundation for everything we continue to build today.

Owner
Ron Bard
In Loving Memory of Ron Bard (1960–2023)

Ron Bard wasn’t just the previous owner of St. Croix Cycle—he was its heart, its history, and its guiding spirit. For decades, Ron poured his time, talent, and boundless dedication into this shop.

A master mechanic by trade and a mentor by nature, Ron had an uncanny ability to diagnose a problem just by listening. His mechanical intuition was matched only by his work ethic. He was up early, hands greasy before most of us had coffee, and he never left a job half-finished. His standards were high, not just for himself, but for all of us who had the honor of working beside him. He didn’t just fix vehicles or machines—he taught us how to take pride in the process, to pay attention to the details, and to treat every job like it mattered.

But beyond the wrench and the toolbox, Ron was a pillar in the community. He gave generously—not always in ways that made the paper, but in quiet, meaningful gestures: helping someone out with a free repair when they needed it, staying late to make sure someone’s vehicle was ready for the weekend, mentoring young mechanics, like Armand who were just starting out. He had a sharp wit, a ton of knowledge, and a knack for making you feel like you belonged. The shop always had an open-door feel, and that was Ron’s doing.

Under his leadership, St. Croix Cycle became more than a business—it became a trusted name, a local institution known for quality, honesty, and hometown pride. People came from miles around, not just because Ron was good at what he did, but because they trusted him. That kind of trust is rare. It’s earned, not advertised. And Ron earned it every single day.

Ron passed away in February 2023, leaving behind not just a successful business, but a legacy of integrity, humility, and service. His presence & fingerprints are still everywhere—in the garage bays, in the rhythm of the daily routine, and in the familiar clink of tools being picked up and set down as the guys work in the shop. We still use the tools he left behind, and we still tell the stories he used to tell. Every time we turn a wrench or welcome someone through the door, we try to carry a little of Ron’s spirit with us.

We are proud to continue the journey Ron began. We carry his memory forward with gratitude, honoring the lessons he taught us and the example he set. His legacy drives us—literally and figuratively—and we’re committed to keeping the heart of this shop beating strong, just the way he would have wanted.
